FAREWELL AND INSTALLATION

After a period of almost two years of vacancy the congregation of Grand Rapids may look forward to the arrival of another minister to fill the empty place in their midst. The Lord willing, Rev. J.R. Beeke will be installed on Tuesday, November 18, by Rev. H. Hofman, and the following evening Rev. Beeke will preach his inaugural sermon. The farewell service in the congregation of Franklin Lakes will be on November 12, D.V.

The memory of Rev. W.C. Lamain remains in the congregation of Grand Rapids and shall not soon be erased. In his many years with them he has spoken and written much, and it Is the desire of Rev. Beeke to build on this foundation soundly based upon the Word of God by divine grace. It is our wish and prayer that the congregation and their new minister may be bound together at the throne of grace in seeking with and for each other the blessing of the Lord. The apostle Paul had to acknowledge that one may plant and another may water, “but it is God that giveth the increase.” May the unchangeable God who fulfilled the request of Elisha of old, grant a similar blessing to Rev. Beeke for the task which lies before him. May the Lord God of Elijah reveal Himself as that ever-faithful God, bestowing His favor upon minister and congregation.

NEW NRC STUDENT TEXTBOOK PUBLICATIONS

As you are probably aware, in the past years we have been enabled to produce four Bible doctrine textbooks for school, church and home use. These books are entitled: Bible Doctrine for Younger Children

Book A

Bible Doctrine for Younger Children

Book B

Bible Doctrine for Older Children

Book A

Bible Doctrine for Older Children

Book B

These books are written for elementary-age children, approximately nine through twelve years of age.

We are now ready to proceed with a three book series geared for high school students, entitled Bible Doctrine for Teenagers.

Due to the increased size of these books, publication costs will be significant. We would like to be able to produce a quality textbook, and yet we keenly feel the financial difficulties of doing so.

If there is, therefore, anyone who is able and feels inclined to donate toward the publication costs of these books, we encourage you to do so.

Please forward all donations to:
